View the Aorangi Road Reserve video below to find out what this playground has to offer families.
Aorangi Road Reserve was a great find for our family in Paraparaumu and an easy way to spend an afternoon. It is a recently installed playground on Aorangi Road and has a little something for everyone with its range of equipment.
SMALLER SIZED PLAY AREA
The smaller sized play area has a Pirate themed hot air balloon with some nice features. These include a looking telescope, an on and off switch, and a listening/talking tube running from top to bottom. Our toddler really loved being able to talk and listen with Mummy and Daddy!
BIG KID AREA
The big kids’ playground had all the bells and whistles you could want. A swinging beam, climbing wall and rope walls are just a few features you’ll find. Another great feature is the number of swings! There is a swing with a baby restraint meaning our younger baby could safely use it.
If you’re a bit older, you can use the blue and red net swing. This is a really nice option as it’s large and allows several people to be on the swing at once. While we were there, some teenagers were making use of the net swing and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had my two young children with me while on the net swing and we enjoyed ourselves while feeling safe.
What was extra cool about this playground, and entertained the family for even longer, were its surroundings. There are grassy slopes for rolling down, over the hill is the rugby park and to the great delight of the toddler, the train tracks are right next door! The street is quiet and family friendly and there is plenty of on-street parking.
Aorangi Road Reserve is definitely a playground worth visiting with your family. Its location, small floor size and private surrounding means it’s a great option for families wanting to keep an eye on their child from one spot. Finally, parents can sit and watch from the hill with a complete view of the playground meaning you don’t have to constantly relocate – which is great when you’ve already laid down the picnic mat!
